History of the World Part 1 is a Mel Brooks (i.e., silly) movie covering human development from the discovery of fire to the French revolution in 92 minutes – it skips around a bit. The title is a play on The Historie of the World, Volume 1 by Sir Walter Raleigh, written while prisoner in the Tower of London. He had only managed to complete the first volume before being beheaded.[src]
