Executive Board Meeting

- Meeting called to order at 3:05pm.
Present: Bloomsburg -- Bob Montante ; Millersville -- David Hutchens ;
Lock Haven -- Susan H. Strayer ; Shippensburg -- David Mooney .
Via videoconference: Kutztown -- Joo Tan ; Clarion -- Jon O'Donnell ;
Edinboro -- Joseph Molnar ; California -- (?) Kovalchik .
- This meeting was conducted largely through videoconferencing.
Minutes from the March 2007 meeting were presented and approved. The Treasurer's report was report was approved and accepted on voice vote.
Following the usual wildly enthusiastic discussions an officers' slate was drawn for presentation to the general meeting. The slate consisted of:
- for President: David Hutchens
- for Vice President: Soundararajan Ezekiel
- for Treasurer: Susan Strayer
- for Secretary: Robert Montante
Joo Tan reported on plans for the 2008 conference at Kutztown.
- The conference website is operational.
- The papers editor is ready to accept papers.
- Paper reviewers and contest judges are solicited. Papers editor Lisa Frye,
frye@kutztown.edu is the contact for reviewers.
- BOF sessions and panels are being solicited.
- The programming contest application is online. The contest will have the same prize structure as in 2007.
- There will be a student-paper award.
- The keynote speaker is John Splesser from Lehigh University.
- Housing information is on the website.
- The tentative schedule is:
- registration at 4pm.
- dinner about 6:30.
- contest practice
- social hour
- contest at 9:30am Saturday
Future conferences: there are no host volunteers for the 2011 conference.

Other business and discussion:
- The conference proceedings will be published via CD, not on paper.
- The California programming coach sent a question about programming languages. C++, Java, Ada, and assembly will be available. The contest will be conducted on SPARC-based machines.
- An announcement flyer is being sent to about 70 schools.
The meeting adjourned at 3:32pm.
