General Meeting Minutes

April 5, 1997

The Spring 1997 meeting of the Association was held on April 5th, 1997 at Clarion Holiday Inn. The meeting convened at 1:10 p.m.; Richard Smaby, President, presided.

A motion was approved to approve the 1996 minutes of the General Meeting as they appear on the PACISE homepage if there are no objections within a week.

A treasurer's report showing a balance of $1,486.25 was accepted.

The PACISE Advisory Committee on Computing Infrastructure is being created and those who wish to serve as members should e-mail erik@planetx.bloomu.edu .

The Spring 98 conference will be held at Shippensburg. Jim Seiber requests the dates of spring break from the SSHE schools so that an appropriate date for the conference can be determined (jlsieb.ark.ship.edu)

Richard Smaby is leading the creation of web pages that describe the computing courses taught around the SSHE.

Richard Smaby presented the current slate of officers (President: Erik Wynters, Vice President: Dave Hutchens, Treasurer: Joe Thomas, Secretary: Deborah Whitfield) and requested further nominations from the floor. The current slate of officers were voted on and approved to serve a 1-year term.

Richard Smaby thanked all involved in coordinating and managing the conference and programming contest. Erik Wynters recognized Richard Smaby for his hard work as President of Pacise and organizing this conference.

The results of the programming contest were announced. 1st place: Shippensburg - Team1, 2nd place: Clarion- Team 2, 3rd place: IUP- Team1. The winning members of each team will receive a copy of Borland C++ Development Suite.

The General meeting adjourned at 1:25 p.m.
