General Meeting Minutes

March 31, 2001

The 2001 Annual meeting of the Association was held on March 31, 2001 at Edinboro University. The meeting convened at 1:25 pm.

The minutes of the April 8th, 2000 were approved as modified.

The treasurer's report showing a balance of $4491.41 was accepted.

David Hutchens, president, thanked all involved in coordinating the Edinboro conference and programming contest.

David Hutchens presented the slate of officers for 2001-2002:

He requested further nominations from the floor. The presented slate of officers was voted on and approved.

David Hutchens announced that the Spring 2002 PACISE conference will be hosted by Slippery Rock University. Suggestions for this conference were to

Gary Butterbaugh presented ideas from his draft proposal for a PACISE journal. Discussion followed concerning whether this would be a publication of proceedings from the conference or a formal journal with professional, refereed scholarly articles. The comment was made that the proceedings could be posted electronically. A formal, printed journal, separate from the proceedings, would add prestige to PACISE. PACISE should continue to explore this possibility.

A motion from the floor: "Slippery Rock, the host for the 2002 conference, request that presenters submit an electronic abstract to be placed on the PACISE website." Motion passed

An announcement from Mary Micco: IUP may be holding a summer workshop on Security and invited interested persons to contact her.

The General Meeting adjourned at 2:05
