My Recipe for Movie Night Prep time: 20 mins (not counting first two steps) Serves: 2 Ingredients: 1/2 cup popcorn kernals 2 tbs vegatable oil 2 tbs butter 1/4 tsp fine ground salt (optional) Beverages, as needed 1 DVD select from Best Movies Ever 1 friend to share an evening with Select a movie. Chef's note - If friend is just a friend, you can text instead of calling. Twenty minutes before movie time Place butter (margarine, if you must) in a small pan and heat slowly to melt Continue heating gently to boil off water Pour through a fine strainer and reserve Ten minutes before movie time. Place oil and kernals to cover bottom in kettle. Cook over medium heat until kernals begin to pop. Shake occasionally. Loosely cover kettle with lid, leaving room for steam to escape. Shake kettle gently until popping slows Pour popcorn into serving bowl, discarding unpopped kernals Evenly pour the clarified butter over the popped corn Salt to taste and toss gently Greet friend with the aroma of freshly popped corn Enjoy your movie, the popcorn, and a good time with beverages, as needed Images are in the public domain.
