ANNE'S OATMEAL BREAD

 

4 pkgs. dry yeast

4 cups warm water

1/2 cup molasses

1/2 cup oleo, melted in half of the water

1/2 cup brown sugar

3 tea. salt

9 cups flour

4 cups Quick Mother's Oats (1 min. type)

1/4 cup wheat germ, opt.

 

     Knead; let rise 2 hours.  Punch down; let rise 1 1/2 hours.  Shape in loaves; rise 45 min.  Makes 4 loaves.  Bake 375' for 35 min.

 

ANNE’ S RYE BREAD

 

5 pkgs. dry yeast

4¼ cups water

2/3 cup molasses

3 tab. sugar

½ cup margarine

4½ tea. salt

3 tab. caraway seeds

1 tab. cocoa

4 cups rye flour

7 cups flour

 

     Knead.  Raise two hours or more.  Punch.  Raise 2 hours.  Place in four loaf pans, raise 1 hour.  Bake 400' for 30 min.  Dough will be sticky and heavy.  This makes slightly smaller loaves than normal.
