PIZZA DOUGH

 

1½ cup warm water

1 pkg. dry yeast

4 cups flour

¾ tea. salt

2 tea. sugar

6 tab. shortening

 

     Add yeast to warm water in mixing bowl.  Mix together flour, salt, sugar and shortening.  Add to yeast mixture.  Blend.  Turn onto lightly floured board and knead until smooth and elastic.  Add more flour if needed.  Place in bowl.  Pour ½  tea. oil on one side, them turn so all sides are oiled.  Cover with towel.  Let rise in a warm place about 1¼ hours or until the size doubles.  Oil pan (cookie sheet).  Press dough and flatten.  Make a rim at edge.  Pour on sauce and favorite toppings of cheese, onion, pepper, precooked sausage or mushrooms.

SAUCE

1 tab. oil

½ cup green peppers, chopped

2 tab. onion

1 cup sauce

1 tea. sugar

grated cheese

provolone cheese or other

Velveeta Cheese

     Brown peppers and onion in oil.  Add sauce and sugar.  Cook on low for 5 min.  Spread on pizza.  Add grated cheese, then Provolone.  Add Velveeta Cheese within the last 5 min.  Bake 400’ to 425’ about 20 min. or until crust is brown.
