BUCKEYE BALLS

 

1 stick plus 1 tea. of  butter or  “fat” margarine

1 cup peanut butter

2½ cups confectioners sugar

chocolate coating

 

     Mix butter and peanut butter in a large mixing bowl.  Add powdered sugar gradually.  Shape into small balls, about ¾” in diameter.  Refrigerate for 1 hour or until firm.

     Buy chocolate coating.  Using toothpicks, dip balls in chocolate, but not all the way, leaving a buckeye effect.

 

CHOCOLATE-COCONUT CANDIES  Dorothy

 

3/4 cup mashed potatoes

4 cups coconut

1 lb. confectioner's sugar

1 tab. almond extract

chocolate coating

 

     Combine the first 4 ingredients.  Drop by heaping teaspoons on waxed paper; roll into balls.  Refrigerate 1 hour.  Dip balls in chocolate coating.  Place on waxed paper.
