CARMEL CORN

1 cup margarine

2 cups brown sugar

½ cup light Karo

1 tab. molasses

1 tea. salt

½ tea. soda

1 tab. vanilla

 

     Melt margarine; add sugar, syrup and salt.  Bring to a boil and boil 5 min.  Remove from heat and stir in soda and vanilla.  Pour over 9 quarts of popped corn.  Bake 250’ for 1 hour.  Stir every 15 min.

 

POPCORN BALLS

 

2 cups light brown sugar

½ cup water

2 tab. butter

3 tab. light Karo

¾ tea. soda

 

     Pop corn.  Melt butter.  Add sugar, water and syrup to the butter.  Boil until it turns brown.  Take off stove.  Add soda.  Pour over 5 quarts of popcorn.  To keep syrup from hardening too soon place corn and syrup inside a larger container which holds boiling water.
