MARBLE
BROWNIES
2 pkg. cream cheese, softened
4 tab. butter or margarine, softened
2/3 cups sugar
2 eggs
6 tab. flour
1 tea. vanilla
1 pkg. brownie mix
1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans, opt.
Grease a
9X13" pan. In medium bowl with
mixer, beat cream cheese, butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs, flour and vanilla; beat until well
blended. Set aside. Prepare brownie mix for cake-like brownies
as directed on pkg., adding nuts.
Spread half of cheese batter in pan.
Spoon half of brownie batter on top, spreading evenly. Repeat.
For marbled effect, cut through batter in each quarter. Bake 350' for 40 to 45 min. or until
toothpick comes out clean. Cool, then
cut.
PHILLY MARBLE BROWNIES
1 pkg. (21½ oz) brownie mix
1 pkg. 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
1/3 cup sugar
½ tea. vanilla
1 egg
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Prepare
brownie mix as directed on package.
Spread batter in greased 13X9” pan.
Mix cream cheese, sugar and vanilla until well blended. Blend in egg. Pour over brownie batter; cut through batter with knife several
times for marble effect. Sprinkle with
chips. Bake at 350’ for 35 to 40 min.
or until cream cheese mixture is lightly browned. Makes 2 doz.
