PECAN TARTS

 

1/2 lb. margarine

8 oz. cream cheese

2 cups flour

1/4 cup confectioners sugar

 

     Spray tart pans with Pam or other oil.  Roll dough out into 60 balls, approximately 1 tea. each and place in tins.  Smooth out to make pie shells.

 

FILLING

 

1 3/4 cup Domino light brown sugar

pinch salt

2 tab. melted butter or margarine

1 tea. vanilla

2 large or 3 smaller eggs

1 tab. white Karo Syrup

nuts, chopped

 

     Place nuts in bottom of crust (3 pans at a time).  Beat eggs slightly; add sugar; mix.  Beating with spoon Add melted butter, syrup and salt.  Pour about 1 tab. in each crust (rises a little).  Sprinkle a few nuts on top.  Bake 350' for 15 to 20 min.  Let set 5 min.  Gently turn pans upside down to remove tarts.
