YUM YUM SPICE BARS

 

1 cup brown sugar

½ cup margarine

1 egg

2 cups flour

1 cup sour milk (1 tab. vinegar in cup, fill with milk)

1 tea. baking soda

1 tea. cinnamon

½ tea. cloves

¼ tea. nutmeg

1 tea. vanilla

½ cup copped nuts

 

     Cream margarine and sugar.  Add egg; beat well.  Add dry ingredients, alternately, with sour milk.  Add vanilla and beat.  Stir in nuts.  Spread in 10X15” jelly roll pan.  Bake 350’ for 10 to 12 min. or until a toothpick is clean.  Cool.  Frost.

 

FROSTING

 

¼ cup margarine

3 cups confectioners’ sugar

1 tea. orange flavoring

¼ cup orange juice

 

     Combine and mix until creamy.  Add more juice, if necessary.
