BROCCOLI SALAD      Mary Ann Christie

 

 ½ cup mayonnaise

2 tab. vinegar

¼ cup sugar 

1 bunch broccoli

1 onion

1 cup chopped pecans

3 or 4 slices bacon

 

     Mix mayonnaise, vinegar and sugar.  Clean, chop broccoli and place in bowl.  Add onion and pecans.  Brown bacon and sprinkle on top.  Pour dressing over all.  Marinate overnight.

     *I cooked 1 cup brown rice in 2½ cups water and then added about 3 cups of cut-up broccoli while it was still hot.  I used Cool Whip and just a small amount of Miracle Whip.  Also, no sugar, and didn’t use bacon until just before serving.  Extra water was needed because of the rice when I went to serve it.
