GLORIA IN EXCELSUS SALAD I. Sontag

 

16 large marshmallows

1 cup milk

1 large (6 oz.) pkg. lime or strawberry gelatin

1- 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese

30 oz. can crushed pineapple, including juice

1/2 cup chopped pecans

2- 8 oz. or 1 large container Cool Whip

 

     Melt marshmallows in 1 cup  milk.  Pour in gelatin powder and blend well.  Soften cream cheese and add crushed pineapple and juice.  Add marshmallow mixture to cream cheese mixture.  Add nuts.  Fold in Cool Whip.  Pour in 12 cup mold.  Chill over night.

 

LIME FLUFF

 

1 pkg. Dream Whip

1/2 cup cold milk

1/2 tea vanilla

1 small pkg. lime gelatin

2 tab. sugar

1 cup boiling water

pineapple juice and water to make 3/4 cup

2/3 cup crushed pineapple, drained

vanilla wafers, opt.

 

     Mix Dream Whip as directed.  Chill.  Dissolve gelatin and sugar in hot water.  Add juice and water; chill until slightly thickened.  Fold in Dream Whip and pineapple.  Pour into desert dishes lined with vanilla wafers, if desired.  Chill until firm.
