PEAR GELATIN

 

16 oz. can pears, liquid drained and reserved

3 oz. pkg. lime gelatin

3 oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened

¼ tea. lemon juice

1 envelope Dream Whip

lettuce leaves

 

     In saucepan, bring pear liquid to a boil.  Stir in gelatin until dissolved.  Remove from heat and cool at room temperature until syrupy.  Meanwhile, prepare whipped topping according to package directions and refrigerate.  Puree pears in a blender.  In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese and lemon juice until fluffy and smooth.  Add pureed pears.  Add whipped topping.  Fold in cooled gelatin.  Pour into an oiled 4½ cup mold.  Chill overnight.  Just before serving unmold onto a lettuce-lined platter.
